A club, week by week

Sixty minutes: the club gets a second pass at the week before it ends.

Week 1
Pick a question you cannot answer
Every student writes down one thing a phone or a laptop does that they cannot explain, and reads it out to the room. The questions go on the board and get sorted into groups, and the club picks five to chase this term.

Week 2
Explain it without the words
Each student takes two minutes to explain one of the five out loud. The room stops them on any word they cannot define. They rewrite the explanation on paper, using only the words that survived.

Week 3
Write instructions exactly
In pairs, one student writes the steps for folding a paper airplane. The partner follows the steps literally and does nothing else. They rewrite the steps to fix every place the partner stalled, then test them on a partner who has not seen them.

Week 4
The first program
On the shared laptops, open a browser editor and change one line of a working program until the output changes. Nothing is installed and no account is needed. Change a second line so the program does something the club decides on together.

Week 5
Break it on purpose
Each student breaks their own program in one place and hands the laptop to a partner to find it. The partner writes down how they found it, not only what it was.

Week 6
Data the club collected
The club counts something in the school that can be counted in one period, and enters it in a shared sheet on the laptops. They sort and chart the numbers, then write one sentence the chart supports.

Week 7
Build it for one person
Each student picks one person in the school and builds a small thing for them: a timer, a calculator, a quiz. That person uses it while the student watches and says nothing.

Week 8
Teach it
Each student teaches their thing to a classmate who has never seen it, in five minutes. The classmate rebuilds part of it from the explanation alone.

This is the shape of the program as it is being built now. It is a plan, and not a record of clubs that have already run.

What he does for you

An owner, not an adviser

Truth Academy and Feynman Club are his to build, with John Sio. He is there on the day a club runs, and his name is on it if it stops running.

A club students choose

Feynman Club is designed as a student community rather than a packet handed down. Students join it because they want to be in the room.

A way into schools

He works with district leaders and with the teachers who would have to run the club every week. Both conversations happen before anything is scheduled.

Where this is going

He is working to set up Feynman Clubs across Southern California, student communities built around one mission, democratizing access to technology. The first clubs are being organized now. He is in active conversation with leaders and educators at Ontario-Montclair (OMSD), Chaffey Joint Union High (CJUHSD), Jurupa Unified (JUSD), and Compton High School, among other districts.

Those relationships are early. They do not yet reflect formal agreements or endorsements, and they are reported here as they develop. Truth Computing's first value is trust: every claim it makes, it can prove. Counting the work honestly, before it is finished, is that value applied to his own.
